Information Retrival and New New Media
Sharing and developing information as a social phenomena is a growing area of both academic investigation and practical network building. This course will both look at how these new social networking constructs are developing, how they can be mined for information and how we can actively participate in them. As creating growable creative spaces for knowledge sharing is one the important aspects of the coming digisphere we will be practically as well as reflectively participating in many areas amongst which are: Blogging, Community, Wiki, Themes/Skins, Video sharing, Webinars, Podcasting and Online worlds.
Other areas that will be examined are: Twitter, Jaiku, Twitku, Second Life, Twingly, Nyligen, Facebook, Lunarstorm, Bubblare.se, LinkedIn, MySpace, YouTube, WordPress, Digg, Technorati, Del.icio.us, Podcasting, IM, mashup, community, webb 2.0, social media, feeds, mobile, gadget, widget and many others which will undoubtedly pop up during the course period.
