Fellows

ACSIS has a growing programme for visiting scholars, in order to let distinguished and innovative Swedish and foreign researchers take active part in the intellectual and networking activities at our centre, interplaying with our ongoing research, courses, seminars and workshops, and in co-operation with other university sites. For each visiting scholar, close contacts are established with relevant environments nationally and at Linköping University. This is effected by co-organised seminars and workshops, individual supervision and informal interaction with colleagues and students.

Distinguished international scholars in the field of cultural studies are regularly invited as visiting professors at ACSIS, with a basis in Norrköping but in co-operation with other universities. In the past we have been able to offer foreign and Swedish young scholars with a PhD degree to visit Norrköping with a postdoctoral scholarship grant. This activity has been very successful, but at this moment there are no more funds for further grants. There are however postdoc sholars visiting ACSIS on other funding.

ACSIS also offers space for visiting PhD students  with their own funding. This is an opportunity to take part in the expanding environment for cultural research in Norrköping, and a contribution to the networking that ACSIS aims for. Please contact Martin Fredriksson for proposals or information.

Exchange program with CCR, Sydney

In 2004 a long-term co-operation was established between ACSIS and the Centre for Cultural Research (CCR) at University of Western Sydney (UWS) in Australia. As a part of this collaboration several PhD Candidates from CCR has visited ACSIS over the years. During 2008 this cooperation was extended in a joint research project entitled Culturalisation and Globalisation.

Visiting ACSIS

ACSIS is an international and interdisciplinary institute and we are happy to host scholars from all over the world as long as we can find areas of mutual interest where we can exchange ideas and experiences. More than 25 scholars, from PhD.students to professors, have visited ACSIS during the last five years. You can find them all, sorted by year, under Activities. If you are interested in visiting ACSIS please take a look at our Visitors Guide and/or contact Martin Fredriksson for more information.

Please note that we have no general means for visiting Scholars which means that you have to provide your own funding. We can recommend you to consider the different scholarships provided by the Swedish Institute.

If you want a second opinion on ACSIS and Norrköping you can read a few short reflections provided by some of our former guest scholars:
